Debt Counselling

Debt counselling is a process designed to help consumers who are struggling with debt to manage their finances and repay their debts in a responsible and sustainable way. In South Africa, debt counselling is regulated by the National Credit Act (NCA) and is overseen by the National Credit Regulator (NCR).

National Debt Counsellors’ Association (NDCA)

The National Debt Counsellors’ Association aims to better inform the public about debt counselling, challenge misconceptions and create an understanding that if you’re in financial difficulty, getting help is a responsible thing to do.

Debt Counsellors Association of South Africa (DCASA)

It is DCASA’s aim to develop a streamlined Debt Counselling industry by setting process guidelines and training Members, in addition DCASA aims to provide Members with various products and services that will allow them to effectively and professionally deliver Debt Review service for over-indebtedness Consumers.
