Debt collection refers to the process of collecting outstanding debts from consumers or businesses who have failed to make payments on time.
Debt collection in South Africa is a regulated sector, and debt collectors must follow strict guidelines and regulations when collecting debts.
Council for Debt Collectors
The Council has been established by the Debt Collectors Act 114 of 1998 to regulate the occupation of debt collector. The Act came into operation on 7 February 2003.
